Time flies when you’re having fun — and this year, I’m celebrating my 10-year work anniversary at Easyfairs!

The Beginning

1 March 2015 feels like yesterday. I remember walking into the office for the very first time, receiving a warm welcome and joining the welcome day for new starters. It was the beginning of my journey into the world of Pop Culture events. That first year was a rollercoaster from start to finish. But I held onto my personal motto:

“The only true wisdom is in knowing you know nothing.”

That mindset — staying curious, questioning everything, and always asking why, how, when — became my guiding principle to learn fast and adapt even faster.

The Early Days: Blood, Sweat & Pure Team Spirit

That first year flew by, but what stayed with me the most was the incredible team spirit across the whole company. Everyone jumped in to support two young guys as we worked to build a brand new Pop Culture events cluster from scratch.

There was blood, sweat, and yes, even a few tears. But that very first moment when I saw thousands of visitors walk into FACTS is a feeling I will never forget.

10 Years of Milestones

Fast forward a decade and there are almost too many memories to count. Each event, each challenge and each success shaped the professional and the person I am today.

If I had to name the toughest moment, Covid definitely takes the crown. In March 2020, Made in Asia became the first mass event we proactively cancelled because we saw what was coming.

The uncertainty was immense:

  • How would a company built mainly around real-life connections at live events and exhibitions survive a pandemic?

  • What would the future of events even look like?

This is where my deep respect for our management team comes in. They communicated clearly and transparently every step of the way, giving us confidence and a plan to make it through the storm.

Looking back now, we did it. Together.

Personal Growth & New Challenges

The pandemic also marked a turning point for me personally. After Covid, I was given the chance to take full responsibility for the Heroes cluster and to shape my own vision for our Pop Culture events.

That opportunity allowed me to grow as a manager, strategist and leader. Today, I am incredibly proud of the amazing Heroes team and the magical moments we create together, not just for our visitors but also for ourselves as colleagues.

Looking Ahead

10 years down, and I am more excited than ever for what is still to come. The world of events is constantly evolving, and so am I.

Here’s to many more years of learning, creating and having fun, side by side with the people who make it all worthwhile.

As one of my favourite quotes says: "Success is not the work of one, but the passion of many moving in the same direction."
